First Year Course Selection Advice

For all engineering students at Lafayette College (this includes students interested in both AB and BS programs), the first year in engineering is designed so that you can delay the selection of an engineering major until the spring semester. The common first semester sequence is shown below:

First Semester:

Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts students should direct email questions to the Director of the Engineering Division, Professor Scott Hummel or call (610) 330-5410.

Considering BS Physics?

If you are undecided between BS engineering and BS physics, to discuss your course selections please contact the Director of the Engineering Division, Professor Scott Hummel, phone (610) 330-5410, and the Physics Department Head, David Nice, phone (610) 330-5213.

Considering BS Computer Science?

If you are undecided between BS Engineering and BS Computer Science, to discuss your course selections please contact the Director of the Engineering Division, Professor Scott Hummel, phone (610) 330-5410, and the Computer Science Department Head, Ge (Frank) Xia, phone (610) 330-5415.
